Conclusion
Woody Allen is well-known for his portraits of intellectual New Yorkers who are fully fascinating whether you live in their world or not. This is one of his best (and darkest) films. Allen himself was in a somewhat black period of his life during the making of this work and it shows. Opinions will vary as to the way Mr. Allen has conducted his personal affairs, particularly the breakup with Mia Farrow and the reasons behind it. Farrow's side of the story can be read in the book, What Falls Away: A Memoir. For myself, I will leave judgements about the real-life merits of May to December romances and related issues to others. If you are a fan of Woody Allen, you will want this DVD in your collection, at least until the time that a Special Edition is released. This is a typically intellegent Allen film with a cast and story that is a cut above even his high standards.
